Saw this go on earlier today:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Thames-E83W-pickup-truck_W0QQitemZ270113345459QQihZ017QQcategoryZ9844QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

In case the listing gets removed quickly, it basically shows some photos of the pickup I just sold, with a cut-down description, with a location of somewhere in Surrey (yet I sold it to a chap in Cornwall). The 'seller' is newly registered, zero feedback. The buy now price is far lower than what I sold it for, which raised my suspicions. I've flagged it with the current (new) owner, and he's reported it to ebay.

Just goes to show, you have to watch these Classifieds listings just like you have to watch your step with normal 'auction style' listings.

Rick, it may also be a good idea to post that info on the Ebay motors board:

I hate it when u have to sell something, its sad!!! Sad
It was very useable and though brush painted still attractive!!
There r quite a number of lorries and trucks brush painted and still in use as intended in malta, there also lots of old buses still in use and I hope things remain like this cause the government is forcing the owners to face them out and replacing them with new stuff !!

Little do they understand that many tourists love them and can be regularly seen taking foto of them and enjoying rides in them!!!

I don't like selling things either Smile doesn't seem natural somehow, especially when you've owned something for yyeeeaarrsss!

Still, it means I can focus efforts here on the A40 Devons and Bedford utes, while the resto place get on with the Dodge, so its not all doom and gloom Wink

the blue is really nice and i like it more than the green one, perhaps cause its 2 tone!!
the utes r nice too but i still like the e83w mostly, and if i ever find one and buy it, I'll blame it on u and cjm with mrs bob2 !!! Smile

Laughing Laughing
can give u Mrs Bob2 's cousin number who lives their in uk, he's a very big guy, an ideal bodyguard!!! Laughing

remember my hillman hunter deluxe, its going off to the body shop this weekend, decided to go for it and see what happens, the asking price was right so I figured out that i should do it, especially after having seen a couple of old cars going for scrap metal, I couldn't bear to see it ending up like that!!!

I know it will never be worth much and nothing too special to look at but its too good to throw away!!

Rick already has a body guard!!!! ME!!!! Or is it that he needs a body guard to protect him from me? hmmmm Confused

I too was sorry to see both E83W’s go, they are really cute (I’m glad I was at work on both occasions and didn’t actually see them go). Crying or Very sad

They are not very practical, I’m only 5ft+ myself and struggle whenever we went for a ride in the pickup, its really small in there, I don’t think they were meant to have passengers - that means we would never be able to go out for rides together which is a shame!!!! Shocked

Can’t wait for the Dodge to be ready now!!!! Cool

I have to tell you that I'm currently out of town with some major business problems so pick up isn't an option. Sorry about that... Hope you will understand... But, you can still buy the Ford Thames... The selling price will be 1600 pounds...For this price I will include free delivery of the Ford Thames van anywhere in UK. You will also have access to a refund policy on this transaction. However, before any delivery can be done we have to start the transaction on ebay so we can be both protected.
In order to start the transaction on the eBay system I need to receive some details from you:
- your full name and address (for your invoice + delivery purposes)...
As soon as the above details will be provided I'll start the official transaction on eBay and they will notify you about this. You'll also receive important guidelines + instructions from them ( please go through them exactly ).
Will wait to hear from you. Thank you for your interest...

Hi

Sounds a suitably unreliable reply, he keeps mentioning official, and being push for you to respond, does anyone actually reply like this, it says dodgy straight away to me!

The listing is still on there, is ebay not doing anything about it?

Cheers

eBay were informed by the current owner of CJM, and I also posted it on the Motors forum as suggested by alfanut, but to no avail it seems Rolling Eyes ebay need to sharpen up
