Can someone just confirm this for me?

The right turn (flashing) indicators on the Devon have stopped flashing, right turn signals only. I tried a new flasher unit but no difference, still no RHS indicators or action in the flasher unit (no tick ticking). Left hand flashers are fine.

Looking at the wiring, there are 3 connectors on the base of the unit.

1. looks like a feed in to the unit
2. looks like a single feed out
3. looks like a feed to a repeater lamp/beeper

As the flashers work ok to the left, can I assume that the unit is therefore ok? my thinking now is that there is something up with the flasher switch, but just thought I'd check I'm on the right lines here before stripping the switch, as it is a little involved getting it off (an aftermarket assembly).

ta, Rick

Your flasher is ok.
Check for a bad bulb or a bad ground.

Had another look at things this evening. Took off the steering wheel, so that I could run a meter across the contacts in the indicator switch. That confirmed that power was coming up into the switch, and down back out again, depending on which direction was being selected.

A closer look has shown that the rear RH indicator is permanently on when the right indicator is selected. The front indicator lamp is interesting. Cheapo motorcycle lamps have been fitted under the front bumper, the one on the RH side has no baseplate in the lamp, the 2 wires are soldered direct to the bulb, and it has got hot, hot enough to melt the orange lens onto the bulb. Anyone know what would have caused that?? again a dodgy earth maybe?? first thing is to replace the connection and bulb, and see what difference (if any) that makes.

Yup, have been going around under the dash measuring and following various wires (home-made wiring by previous owner Rolling Eyes )
