do these things work ok in a car? I remember reading about them having a heavy stylus, which doesn't do much for the life of an LP..

Personally, I think you'd be better off transferring all your vinyl to CD.

If you manage to drive over a big enough bump in the road, the needle may destroy the record.

Don't trust it. Wait & speak to someone who's tried one.

I can remember them being fitted to the more up-market coaches in the early 60s and they seemed to work quite well, the records surviving even trips over the notorious Snake Pass between Sheffield and Manchester. The only snag I can see is that they only took 45rpm singles, which were posted through the slot in the front, so the novelty might wear off after having to change the record every three minutes on a long journey Sad
