Hi,
Does anybody know when the Kew side valve 6's were made and what sizes were they?
Thanks

Hi

Welcome along, I am sure a Dodge fan will answer your question very soon!

What classics do you own/interested in?

Cheers

Just wondering about the English Dodge 6's Dave.
In Australia we had a mix of USA, Canadian and Kew 6's.
I did a search but can't find anything {years, specs etc} on those engines.
Cheers

Inevitably there are many options - as the engines (Chrysler/MOPAR) had many incarnations even though they were the same design. These sites are worth a look:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_Flathead_engine

http://www.allpar.com/mopar/flat.html

http://www.t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/otherengines.php

I think that the majority of Kew products used the 230 cu in model, which is similar but a couple of inches longer than the ones used extensively in the WW2 US WC series weapons carriers (top tip - most of the internal components, valves, springs, pistons bearings seals etc etc are the same).

I am pretty sure though that the engines put into UK manufactured trucs actually came from Canada not the USA. That is just something that sticks in my head from years gone by. I am confident that none were actually built in UK, although certain bits such as Lucas generators were actually bolted on here.

Sorry that took an age to post - I have been away from the site for a while!!

Thanks for those sites Paul.
There is still very little on the Kew 6.
What years they were made, applications etc?
I think they were used in cars and trucks here.
Cheers
