I would have thought this was was a DIY job but they are fairly popular in France as most of the Pompier brigades used them.
They were specially constructed so the firemen could get close to the fire very often down tight country roads and then not have to reverse but just drive straight back out again. We have seen many "pompier fete days" and they have always had them I have also seen HY Vans the same _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

On the pompier ones each side is lockable but a scary thought; In my days on my Dads farm I used to drive a combine harvester with the little wheels at the back steering, now that was scary, at first, it was a new one so the steering was geared to turn the way you wanted to go but some of the older ones were turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction to the way the vehicle needed to go _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

Hi
This reminds me of a couple of things.
Did you see the Top Gear(Sorry for swearing) prog when James May built a double ended stretch Alfa/Saab?
They tried using the steering at both ends at the same time.
Also I seem to remember a Clown Bike with geared handlebars (bars left, wheel right).
Buzzy: there is an idea for your next Mad Nantwich Cyclist Project. |
