Ive already posted this elsewhere on the forum but may have buried it in the wrong place so apologies if you've already seen it.
This is my Riley Special.
The car was being constructed by my late Father who died suddenly 12 years ago. It has been stored in a warm dry garage ever since. Its now time to get it finished._The car is 80% complete. The doner car was a 1935 Falcon Saloon. The chassis has been shortened & fitted with a two seater open top body. My Dads plans were to use the car for Hill climbs & sprints so it is a sports special. The engine & gearbox have been completely rebuilt, but have never run. The car needs complete wiring, Painting, exhaust etc. I am not a Riley expert & would welcome any help or advice on how to get the car running.
I have now started the wiring & have a live ignition circuit & the engine turns over.
I would like to find out a bit more about the original car.
The Reg No of the original Falcon was CPD 723. The car was registered in the Birmingham area in the 1950s. Any one have any more info or pictures etc of the original car.
I will post details of my progress throughout the winter.

What a stunner!
I would pay money to sit in her in full song - and that coming from a frugal Scotsman is saying something!
Well done your Father - and of course yourself. |
