I am looking at a Morris gearbox on ebay for the DLM
The seller has sent photos and measurements and they match the e93a / 100e bell housing.
The top cover and gear-lever are missing
How easy is it to source a top cover and stick ?
Or has anyone got one they could sell me.
I presume there is a Morris 'Driver / Owner / Car' club I could join ??
A piece of Morris will not be amiss as it had some morris parts originally
Thanks for any help with this

Hi Roger
I have a spare 3 speed morris 8 gearbox complete with cover and gearstick, if that is what you are after. You are welcome to have alook to check if it really does fit - I am in Marks Tey......... _________________ North Essex,UK - Morris 8 tourer 1936 - Jaguar x350 |

Hi,
The 3 & 4 speed Morris 8/SE box's have the same bell housing fitting, the gear sticks and covers are different.

Thanks for the offer Tim
I've gone and bought the one on ebay, Been looking for a four speed on and off over the years.
Dave
ain't that the way, the part I need is different haha.
If it comes to the push I'll have to make a cover and gearstick mount.

If it's missing the cover it will almost certainly be missing the detent springs and ball bearings for the selector rods, from memory 6 mm ball bearings do the job and 12mm length springs.
Cheers

I hope you enjoy the 4 speed, it transformed my eight when I changed over last Christmas! - well worth the effort.
The four speed on my Wolseley is nowhere near as good - but I am hoping to address that soon....... _________________ North Essex,UK - Morris 8 tourer 1936 - Jaguar x350 |
