I'm rapidly running out of WD40. I bought a 5 litre can of the stuff some 7 years or so ago. It turns up on ebay, does anyone know who might sell the 5 litre cans off the shelf? my current tin came from B&Q but I'm not sure if they still stock it or not in this quantity (possibly just in the Warehouse branches?). Otherwise I'll go down the ebay route, but if it is available from a normal outlet it'd avoid p/p costs.

ta, Rick

Interesting fact I have just found about WD40: It's made from fish oil and many sea anglers carry a tin to spray onto their bait. Supposed to be deadly for catching some species. As Michael Cain is supposed to have said: (A lot of people don't know that.) Cool

Hi

Another:-

WD 40 was first made in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company, for a project called "water displacement".

Then it was used to protect their Atlas missile parts from damp, and when the workers found how good it was they started taking it home to use at home, then the decision was taken the consumer market was a good idea.

Over 2.5 million Gallons are produced anually.

Cheers

Dave

I've also used duck oil in the past, perhaps also a marine-based product?

I bought 5 litres from work the other week and you get a free spray WD40 dispenser with it.

I find it works better too, I am sure the propellant in the cans doesn't help the product, the 5ltrs lasts longer too.(in comparison to the same amount in cans) before someone jumps with a witty retort Rolling Eyes Laughing
