|
|
I'm rapidly running out of WD40. I bought a 5 litre can of the stuff some 7 years or so ago. It turns up on ebay, does anyone know who might sell the 5 litre cans off the shelf? my current tin came from B&Q but I'm not sure if they still stock it or not in this quantity (possibly just in the Warehouse branches?). Otherwise I'll go down the ebay route, but if it is available from a normal outlet it'd avoid p/p costs.

Interesting fact I have just found about WD40: It's made from fish oil and many sea anglers carry a tin to spray onto their bait. Supposed to be deadly for catching some species. As Michael Cain is supposed to have said: (A lot of people don't know that.) _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. Hi
Another:-
WD 40 was first made in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company, for a project called "water displacement".
Then it was used to protect their Atlas missile parts from damp, and when the workers found how good it was they started taking it home to use at home, then the decision was taken the consumer market was a good idea.
Over 2.5 million Gallons are produced anually.
Cheers

I find it works better too, I am sure the propellant in the cans doesn't help the product, the 5ltrs lasts longer too.(in comparison to the same amount in cans) before someone jumps with a witty retort _________________ www.OldFrenchCars.com

I've also used duck oil in the past, perhaps also a marine-based product?

Is it any good on seals? |

As this thread has got a bit silly, can anyone answer a question that has puzzled me for years..........
Vegetable oil is made from vegetables
Olive oil is made from olives
Fish oil is made from fish
But what is baby oil made from???? _________________ Brian
