Film Show about history of Le Mans Witney Sat 7th March



Next Saturday at Eynsham Hall Witney Oxfordshire in a fantastic stately home all day film show plus lunch and tea plus 6 guest speakers and 2 Le Mans winners.
By the same team who put on the Jim Clark film festival this time last year.
This will be really great and well worth attending.

We've just announced more details about the films we will be showing - full info on the News section of the event website.

Among the pre-War footage the highlight must be some lovely colour footage shot for Prince Bira at the 1939 event - he was sharing a gorgeous Alfa coupe with Raymond Sommer.

We also have a film called International Road Race made about Briggs Cunningham's challenge for victory at the 1953 Le Mans, Final Victory (a colour film about Aston Martin's 1-2 in 1959), some nice colour film about the MG Car Club North West Section's 1959 and 1960 entries with an MGA, showing life at the other end of the grid, colour footage of the Team Elite effort in 1963 and 64 (including shots of the Rover-BRM), a great atmospheric film about the 1966 24 Hours called Race Day, Never Start Something You Can't Stop (1968 JW-Gulf effort), extracts from La Ronde Infernale (1969) and much, much more - we are still adding to the programme. Our only problem is going to be squeezing it all into three hours!

Hope to see some of you there - I know that there are several members already attending.

Superb event 150 + attended great venue....next year the whole days films will be devoted to the theme of Lotus.
