|

Can anyone tell me where the panel lights are mounted behind the dash on a Morris 8 Series E? Am busy on the electrics at the moment but am now trying to find out where the panel lights would have been fitted? I dont have any of the original mountings for the speedo or the oil/fuel gauges so am looking for those or compatable fittings but my book doesn't tell me anything other than there should be 2 panel lights.
Can anyone help with this? |

Been well over forty years since I had a Series E, so memory might not be accurate.
I seem to remember that the speedo housing was slotted at the front (but behind the bezel and dashboard, in such a way that light could enter to illuminate the dial. The slots were dust-proofed with celuloid. I think that the lamp holder was mounted on the speedo body itself, but in that I might be wrong and that it was mounted very close to the body in a position to let light in through the slots.
I hope that is of some help,
