Anyone know where to get gas mantles at reasonable cost?
I need number 1 (Bijou) fitting.
Also need a cone shape clip on glass shade for same and the mantle keeper springs.

| I can get number 1's for you at £1.50 each if thats cheap enough. I have a local caravan shop that lets me rumage through their old stock and pay the prices marked, think they have about 6 left |

| I'll have a look at his shades when I pick the mantles up but I'm pretty sure he only had the non-see through type in that fitment, best wishes Steve |

| Hi, those shades are lovely, they are a very similar shape to the ones in my 1968 Bessacar. I also need new mantles, don`t know where to get them, I also don`t know what size I need, does anyone know how or what you measure to find out what size mantles you need? Cheers Katie. |

I haven't forgotten the mantles, just been ill this week, but he's saving them for me.
My problem isn't mantles its finding 2 gas light fittings for my 1959 Eccles |

We didn't know what size we needed either. My method was to buy different ones until I got the right size!
I bought 'universal' fitting, no good.
I spotted a tiny number 2 on the ceramic nozzle so assumed that was the size but it wasn't.
Finally bought No.1 also known as Bijou and they fit.
