Thank goodness its over once again and all the decorations will come down this weekend ...Life as we know it will be back to normal.
Plans for the year ahead....Just keep the old marina going and improving it as I go along....Just before Christmas I had a mini stroke. I am ok now and will probably go back to work mid January. More than likely now I will sell the Pilgrim Bulldog as I have to take it easy. Not really a lot to do to it. I had plans to stick an 1800 in the marina for towing the caravan but as I usually camp at only 4 shows a year its not worth the effort. I will just keep it with the 1300 engine in it and as its the oldest 1300 on the road in Britain and will be the first marina to hit 40 years old in May 2011.
A quiet year ahead for me unfortunately.

Hi

Plans for me for 2010 include, having a really good sort out, and then hopefully once existing projects are done, trying to make this 'ere steam van. Think this might be one that stretches over a few years, to spread the work, and cost! hehe Laughing

Cheers

Dave

Sadly, what with the financial crisis, figuring which car I can bear to let go. I love them all and it will be a very hard decision.

2010 will be a year for sorting out those things that I never use!

I will probably sell off the 1928 Morris Cowley once I get it's carburation problems sorted out. (I am in the process of removing the S.U. carburettor disaster {I.M.O.} and replacing it with a rebuilt Smiths 5 jet, which was the unit Morris used, until they bought the dreadful SU company out in about 1926). However, with the weather currently in the mid thirties celcius, I'm not spending much time on it!

My 1971 Kombi Campmobile will probably also go. Not because there's anything wrong with it, but it never gets used! My wife has serious back problems, so we cannot use it for camping. It was bought new by my parents and so it will be with great reluctance that I'll let it go.

When they go, it'll leave quite a bit of vacant space in the workshop, and my evil little mind is quietly scanning around, wondering what to get to fill the said space!................

I hope to visit the UK this northern spring (probably May) and I'll get in as many car and aircraft shows as I can. I will also contact some of the forum Members in Essex as soon as I know exactly what I'm doing!

In the meantime, a happy New Year to all forum friends!

Keith

Looking forward to getting our Gracie back also getting our Nyala back . Gracie is a respray that became a full body resto and is giving serious withdrawal symptoms with no classic and Nyala needed a few minor jobs and our caravan service guy has her until march so that jobs are fitted in as when . Other than that all other work is non classic related mainly to with the house and garden .

Was sat here a year ago pondering if I had a future - was told that I had lung cancer and that my diabetes would result in my losing one, if not both, of my legs below the knee before the end of the year Shocked

Now 1 year later having found out how to reverse the effects of the diabetes and lost over 3 stone in weight, realised the pillock of chest 'specialist' was talking out of his exhaust and finding the cure to my chest problems myself (allergy to some medication - wonderful thing the internet) i am now looking forward to getting my Minor back on the road (have replaced a chassis leg and MOT tester wants it as per factory specification and not as per modification he has passed as OK for the last 6 years), finish off the respray on the 1800 (just needs final 2 coats) and then I will sort a couple of small rust bubbles on the 126 series Merc.

Other than that you are fine. Laughing Suppose its better to replace your chassis legs than your own. I just keep soldiering on...2 heart attacks 1 cardiac arrest c/w jump leads..stents in both legs..mini stroke just before Christmas....Iam still working full time and will be 63 in a fortnight....The wife is right...time to take it easy but I cant. I get so bored doing nothing and this time of year does my head in. I think when you have worked all your days and always had a " homer " in the runway to fix its hard to stop...needs must. Enough of my medical history...roll on the good weather and the first car show in May. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Intend to try spending equal time fishing and working on the old vehicles this year. First job today was to mount the Ariel Sq4 on a trolley to facilitate working on it. The damn thing overbalanced and only a feat of 'panic induced' superhuman strength prevented it from falling on me. I am now indoors nursing a wrenched arm. Sad

Plans for this year mainly involve clearing out enough space in the garage for a classic. So far I have nearly enough room for a Peel 50 Smile

I have to get the Morris 8 finished, then get the conrod back into the Talbot ( one has to take the rear axle out for this ). Then I will rebuild the MGB roadster to look like a Sebring.
I think the Talbot will have to go this summer and maybe the Midget. Sad
