When I shift from drive to reverse & vice versa the auto transmission thumps
into gear with such force it rocks the car. Have had it to several transmission specialists but still no idea. Not many Stags in Queensland Australia. Any suggestions? Ces Stevens  |

When was the oil and filter (if fitted) last changed?
Is the oil level correct?

They are a pretty common Borg Warner tranny and in many cars in Australia
Perhaps you need to find an "older" auto mechanic 
Are linkages to box firm and not moving to much?
