Hi, Just a quick introduction, we bought our first classic car last week, 1937 Morris 12/4, when I have figured out how to post a pic I'll go into some detail. Suffice to say we are really enjoying her she is roadworthy and MOT'd.

Hi again,
Just really finding out how to post a pic, if I have done it correctly then this should show a picture of "Bolly" at the Cranleigh Classic Car show last Sunday...
[]
She was called "Bonnie" but our Daughter thought "Bolly" suited her. She seems to be all there and runs quite well for a 73 year old, we intend to run her around for what is left of the summer, then it's into the garage for an engine strip down and rebuild for next spring. She came with a set of +040" pistons (NOS), but I suspect that she needs a crank re-grind and new "little-end" bearings will there be a problem finding the bearings?? Any suggestions will be gratefully received. The other thing that I think may be a problem are the running boards, the rubbers are gone and the metal is very rusty, I may be able to get a sheet metal company to fabricate the boards but what about the rubber, it seems the original covered the board with a large half-round edge that travelled the length of the board, I would imagine they are rarer than Hen's teeth. |

Welcome to the forum. As well as this forum you could join the Morris register which caters for Morris's of this age and most likely have had members who have faced these problems on this and similar models, here is there web site address

I have never got a satisfactory reply about the running board rubbers. I think we have to stretch rubber sheet over them. I found that members of the Register are a bit secretive about where they get some of their parts, thats why I am no longer in the Register. _________________ 1936 Morris 8 Series 1

A belated hi also, I joined recently and just seen your thread now too. My father has a 1934 Morris Cowley Four, a little earlier than yours. Are you in the Morris Register? If so, you might know him, Ken Smith? Piccie posted below of his car next to mine at Aldeburgh in Suffolk last year.
