I haven't posted any pics of my car in a while, so here's one of her on show at the Austin Ten Drivers Club national rally at Frome in July. We had a wonderful, sun-drenched weekend, and I won second prize for my period outfit.
I think I need to make the white lines around the wing edges a bit deeper. I used greenhouse paint (thanks to those on here that found wonderful sources for me!) and I had some posters and lots of archive material in the car, including the music for the "Blackout Stroll", a gas mask, ration chocolate wrappers and even a saucy WWII Pett's annual!
It's nice to look back on these sunny photos now that the weather's getting a bit cooler again. Can't wait for next year's National! |

Car looks great, but why no photo of your outfit, Annie!
Were you a civilian, an ATC driver, a Land Army girl? Tell us please! _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

I went with a civvie outfit - I'd like a WAAF uniform or similar but I'm quite a big lass so it's pretty much impossible to find uniforms to fit. I wore some reproduction strap-trousers and a repro 40's t-shirt from Freddies of Pinewood (I love Freddies stuff!) plus white Keds daps and my hair in victory rolls. As the rally was in Frome I was able to look round the lovely vintage shops there and I bought some great plastic jewellery. I love to dress up, I spend all week in safety boots and covered in brake dust so Sunday rallies are the only chance I get to throw on my gladrags |

That looks lovely. I like all the wartime bits! _________________ Richard Hughes |
