hi, im after some information regarding the vehicle in the pictures. its my grandads motorhome and all we know is the its a morris ld chassis that was first registered in 1962 with the reg 7335 pk. it was originally an ambulance up until my grandad bought it around 20 years ago and we believe it was fitted with a petrol engine, it now has a 3.8 diesel from the 60's. think its a gardner. it also had air suspension on the rear. trying to find out if there was any others fitted with this body as we cant find any record and have never seen another.
any input or information is much appreciated
thanks

Hi , BMC FG chassis were very common throughout the 60s and 70s.They were recognised by the cab doors hinged to the rear and at at angle to the chassis. Engine access was limited through removeable covers on a main engine cover inside the cab.
It took over where the LD finnished. Some had 4 litre petrol engines but most had either a 2.2 or 3.8 wet liner diesel engine. The screen on your vehicle looks like an original FG screen.
Google BMC FG and you should find some info.
Regards to all , Phil. |

Hi
This link shows the BMC original body type, sometimes known as the threepenny bit cab.
Yours would be a specialist body on the same chassis. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

They were once a common sight here in Scotland. The majority of them were converted to camper vans when they were finished with ambulance duty _________________ ROVER
