Hi Rick, yes if I jump forward about 200 photos.... here we are at the MOT station last month which I am pleased to say it passed.....
Now I will leap back to the middle of last year......
Sourcing parts was a real problem,
but with a huge amount of help from my friends on the French Forum,
I was GIVEN a fuel tank, bumper, some cargo floor,
a carburettor and an owners manual..........
More will follow
Thanks Steve |

I love those old French vans, you can imagine it stacked with baguettes and crates of wine. Lucky chap. _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |

Hi Pigtin,
maybe there is more to this than you realise.... In France these
vans are known affectionately as "Nez de Cochon"
which means Pig Nose |

Hi DB4,
I think my nose may be more of an Italian shape than the retrousse style of the pig yacht. But thank you for pointing it out.
Where is our old mate 'Greeney from France' he'd appreciate this thread.
They're a great series of photos and you're making excellent progress. Keep the posts coming... _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |

Hi Pigtin,
I hope you didn't misunderstand me, I was just trying to say that
the van is a PIG nose and your user account is PIG tin
I'll get me coat

Then to repair the exhaust, as a replacement is not available...
Although I may in the future have a stainless one made...

That head reminds me of a Renault engine variant. Twin rocker shafts and hemi chambers (at a guess as I can't see!) In the Renault 16TX the 1650cc made about 95bhp and good torque from low revs. Compare that with the 1600 Kent from that era fitted to the Cortina....

I did understand you D4B, sorry... my odd sense of humour. The car in my avatar is named pigtin, so that is where I take the name from.
Plastic Pig(Reliant engine) Austin Seven. (Although I am a bit porky these days.)
