The Vauxhall 12hp
ASY, 6 cylinder D back saloon I acquired back in 1992/3 when I swapped my old SAAB 95 van for it. The ASY was the replacement for the slightly earlier Cadet model in Vauxhalls range back in the early 1930s, prior to the DX.
I knew it'd need a lot of work, but as usual
all thoughts regarding the work involved quickly disappeared when the prospect of having
my own post-vintage saloon, no matter how decrepit, presented themselves to me.
This one I stored at Fred & Barbs over in Ashley in Cheshire, near Manchester Airport, along with my E83W pickup.
They had a classic J Type Morris van, and a
pair of early Singer 9s to keep my old crates company.
Not much happened with the ASY Vauxhall in the end .. I tinkered about with it, and accumulated some spares, but in the end it was
sold off to further another project or two, although which in particular I don't remember - probably the blue Triumph Spitfire.
