Bentley Le Mans picture.

This fabulous old Bentley is powered by a hefty 6.5 litre engine. The weather equipment - what there is of it - is in place and a couple of occupants were spied huddled in the back seeking a dry spot to sit. The car dates to 1929. Many Bentley saloons have been bodied in the style of Le Mans cars over the years - whether this is an original or a re-creation based on a saloon chassis I don't know - but whatever I think its great.

Picture of Le Mans at the Astle steam fair.

Do you have any info on this particular exhibit? I'd be happy to add to (or correct!) the information I have on this Le Mans.

Photograph of the Bentley Le Mans on display at Astle Park in Cheshire.

All the photos in this section were taken at Astle Park in 2005, on what was a very very rainy day! The Bentley shown above got a real drenching - top marks to the owners of all the old vehicles on show, I'm sure they'd rather their prized vehicles were tucked away out of the inclement weather. Despite the efforts of mother nature, the Le Mans looked really well and is a credit to its owner.

In all I've put 75 photographs from this classic show on oldclassiccar, you can see the other pics of old cars, lorries, steam traction engines & road rollers, motorcycles, and even bicycles on the main Astle Park gallery page.
