DeSoto Airflow picture.Streamlining was big news in the 1930s although much of the design work was theoretical rather than well-proven. This DeSoto I think looks stunning and shows how American car designers were thinking. Note the hefty towbar.
Picture of Airflow at the Astle steam fair.Do you have any info on this particular exhibit? I'd be happy to add to (or correct!) the information I have on this Airflow.
All the photos in this section were taken at Astle Park in 2005, on what was a very very rainy day! The DeSoto shown above got a real drenching - top marks to the owners of all the old vehicles on show, I'm sure they'd rather their prized vehicles were tucked away out of the inclement weather. Despite the efforts of mother nature, the Airflow looked really well and is a credit to its owner. |
