DeSoto Airflow picture.Compared to other 1930s American cars the Airflows were really ground breaking. Ideas such as headlamps set into the coachwork would become commonplace in designs after the war and into the 1950s. Curved windscreens were not around either hence the split screen arrangment here.
Picture of Airflow at the Astle steam fair.Do you have any info on this particular exhibit? I'd be happy to add to (or correct!) the information I have on this Airflow.
All the photos in this section were taken at Astle Park in 2005, on what was a very very rainy day! The DeSoto shown above got a real drenching - top marks to the owners of all the old vehicles on show, I'm sure they'd rather their prized vehicles were tucked away out of the inclement weather. Despite the efforts of mother nature, the Airflow looked really well and is a credit to its owner. |

In all I've put 75 photographs from this classic show on oldclassiccar, you can see the other pics of old cars, lorries, steam traction engines & road rollers, motorcycles, and even bicycles on the main Astle Park gallery page.
