The RM was perfectly suited to London by the ease in which passengers could hop on and off the bus. Such easy accessibility reduced the amount of time the bus had to be stopped and thus minimised holdups for traffic behind.

The event began with the old cars congregating at the village green in Hankelow, and driving down in a leisurely convoy to the exhibition fields in nearby Audlem.
