Mercedes Benz 450SLC.
For anyone who liked the look of the SL but didn't want a folding roof the 2 door SLC on its lengthened wheelbase was a good choice. Prices for the SLC are probably at an all-time low so bagging a good one now seems like a good idea. The 450 is powered by the well-known V8 Mercedes unit.
