AEC Mandator.Photograph from the 2005 Cheshire Run.
At first I thought this recovery wagon was a Leyland but I am reliably informed (by its owner!!) that it is in fact an AEC. This model was distinctive due to its ergomatic cab which aimed to make the working environment less of a struggle for the driver when compared to other cab designs. This Mandator was supplied new to British Leyland at Longbridge as a fleet tractor unit. Soon after it was converted in to the company breakdown vehicle. If you have any more information on this particular Mandator I'd be interested to hear from you, as I'm the first to admit that I am no expert on identifying older vehicles, lorries in particular. |

I've featured 64 photos that I took while watching the Cheshire Run at the mid-way stopover at a local truckstop, you can seem more photos of old lorries on the main Cheshire Run page. If you've got an interesting set of photographs from a show you've attended it'd be great to feature them on oldclassiccar too.
