The Highwayman was powered by a hefty 6 cylinder Gardner diesel engine. The example shown here is pulling a sizeable trailer.

If you have any more information on this particular Highwayman I'd be interested to hear from you, as I'm the first to admit that I am no expert on identifying older vehicles, lorries in particular.
