The saloon-car origins of this rare pickup are clearly evident from any angle. Small commercials like this are eagerly sought out by collectors of light commercial vehicles - unlike larger lorries these small vans and pickups can be comfortably stored in a domestic size garage.

Classic lorry and van photos from the Gaydon truck show.
In addition to the Standard Vanguard Pickup shown above, were many other classic and vintage lorries, both large and small. I've featured 85 of the photos I took at this particular show, held at the Gaydon motor museum in Warwickshire, in 2005. Whether you're a fan of all Standards, or just Vanguard Pickups like the one shown here, I'd recommend a visit to this show.
