A few notes on this classic Austin:

By the 1970s the Vanden Plas name was just a badge on the back of a re-worked and upgraded production saloon. The Allegro VDP replaced the earlier 1100 version. Interior trim and front-end styling was significantly re-worked from the basic Allegro design.
