On the stage at Croft during the '74 RAC Rally: Lada 1500

Not a common sight in rallying but sturdy and able to take some abuse was the 4 door Lada from Russia. The Lada featured here had drivers T. Schea and P A Bakke at the helm.

I must say a big thanks to Rob Ryder who took these photos during the 1974 event, and kindly agreed to them being featured on oldclassiccar - thanks Rob! If anyone else out there has photos like the picture of a rally-prepared Lada 1500 above, whether featuring rally cars or other types of motorsport events, it'd be great to feature them here like this.
