Austin A40 Mk2 rallycar.
The Rally Of The Tests historic car rally held in November 2005Notes on this classic Austin A40 Mk2 seen on 13th Nov 2005.The 1098cc version of the BMC A series engine is used in the 1962 A40 Farina run in this year's Rally of the Tests. Many modifications are obvious on this classic A40 including extra lamps (up front and on the roof) and quick-release bonnet pins.
This picture, of an early A40 Mk2, is photo number 13 of 95 images that I've put up on the site showing the historic rally cars that took part in this event in 2005. Please go to the main Rally Of The Tests photos page to see the other 94 photos! All were taken during a mid-morning stop-over between competitive stages during the rally on Sunday 13th November. The venue was the former secret nuclear bunker at Hack Green, near Nantwich in Cheshire. |
