Triumph Spitfire Lenham GT.
Photograph of a classic Spitfire Lenham GT at the Goodwood circuit.
Take a Spitfire 4 (aka Mk1) of 1147cc and graft on an aftermarket fibreglass roof and you have the makings of a Lenham GT. Lenham and Ashley both produced streamlined roof assemblies that could be fitted to Spitfires during the 1960s. This one appears to be on the wobbly wheels that were used on the Le Mans Spitfires. If you can provide more info on Spitfire Lenham GTs, or other Triumphs similar to this, please get in touch. In all there are 170 photographs featured from the 2006 revival, including competition cars, service vehicles, pushbikes, and a few interesting old motors owned by visitors to the race. To make things more manageable, they have been split into 2 sets (this Triumph is in set 2). |
