Crescent DB3S Aston Martin
|
Aston Martin DB3 S from The Crescent Toy Co. Ltd
The DB3S featured strongly in sportscar races in the early to mid 1950s, flying the flag for Britains manufacturers alongside Jaguar in many national and international events. In 1954, the car was made available to the paying public, although it was only well-healed sporting motorists that would be stumping up 3684 GBP for the open car, or 4800 GBP for the ultra-rare closed coupe version. A period photo of DB3S/1 at Charterhall may be found on this page.
The photo above was kindly sent in by William Thorne. His father was MD for Crescent Cars years ago ... " I very much enjoyed visiting your site and was especially pleased to read that you have a liking for the Crescent Toy Grand Prix racing cars. I have always believed they were the pick of those made in the 1950's and early 1960's ... ".
