Dinky Mercedes Grand Prix cars
More information on the Mercedes Grand Prix die cast from Dinky
As with the Speed of the Wind range, the die-cast Mercedes racing car was produced both before and after the war. Shown here are three very playworn examples of this classic Dinky toy. The yellow example shown above is a pre-war version, complete with crimped on base and plain flat wheels. The blue example with very worn (but original!) worn paint is also pre-war, although is missing its crimped on base. Finally the silver version of the classic Benz is a little later in date, and has the characteristic ridged wheels of postwar Dinkys. These are some of my own favourite Dinky toys of all time.
Measures: 90mm in length. Approximate value £25-£30 postwar, £65-£75 pre-war
