Mini Traveller Mk2.
Thanks to Ray, who sent in this photograph of his Mini 'woody', taken in the early seventies..

Ray says: ".. please find attached one pic of my wife's 69 / 70 Morris Mini Traveller taken in about 1977. It was about five years old when we
bought it and gave very little trouble in the time that we had it, apart from a new rear sub frame, which most Minis then suffered from as they entered old
age. Seems a long time ago now. Anyway i thought it may be suitable for your Period Photographs section."
It most definitely is, thanks Ray!

Morris Mini 'woody'
When the Mini Traveller hit the streets, BMC were already 'old hands' at the woody look with their cars, for instance the popular Minor Traveller, although on the Moggy the framing was a structural part of the car, whereas on the Mini it was just decoration and didn't contribute to the structure. The Series V/VI Oxford Travellers though featured no wood at all. Ray's old car is a Mk2, it still had the sliding door windows of the Mk1, but had a different grille treatment as can be seen in this picture, along with other detail changes. The external door hinges remained. Ray's car is badged as a Morris, and there was an Austin version too, along with the mainstream all-steel estate car that didn't feature a woody finish.
