Mr Mercury was the face of National Benzole fuels. We are told that this spirit is refined from British coal and was a great success before the war. As soon as National Benzole is back in the pumps they will be a success again. I suppose this is a reference to the strict fuel rationing that drivers in the UK were stuck with after the war. Its surprising how many petrol companies continued advertising in the trade mags despite not actually having much to sell. |
