The Permanent fuses.
As supplied by S. Guiterman and Co. Ltd..
The revolutionary POL Permanent Mercury fuse was now becoming available after years of supply issues after the war. Details of this unusual fuse are: A 'short' or 'overloading' blows the fuse in the normal way. As a column of mercury takes the place of the usual fuse wire it is only necessary to tap the end to renew the fuse connection. This action could be repeated indefinitely without loss of efficiency. 25 and 35 amp English types were only available at this time at 2s (10 pence) a time. Another interesting gizmo that doesnt seem to have taken off. Did it work ok? |
