1970s Classic Cars

A PC screensaver featuring saloon & sportscars.

Seventies cars
On the main screensavers page you'll find lots of car-related downloads, mostly specific to a particular make, model, or type of vehicle. The 1970s car screensaver on this page is slightly different, in that it contains a mixture of cars, all that date (more or less) to the '70s, either in design, or when they were put on the road.

I've tried to include some of the popular, 'bread and butter', cars, that when new no-one even noticed when they drove by, but now are quite scarce. Some were good cars, others not very well received. Then there are some performance cars, either based on humdrum saloons and given some ooompphh to make them go well, or else designed as sports/GT cars from the outset. Cars featured are the Ford Escort Mk1, Cortina Mk3, Toyota Celica coupe, Austin Princess (wedge), Allegro, Maxi HL, Mercedes SLC, MGB (rubber bumper), Lotus Sunbeam & Eclat, Renault 17, Jensen-Healey, Lancia Fulvia, Triumph Dolomite Sprint, 2000, Stag V8, Opel Manta SR & Ascona, Porsche 911 targa, XJ6 Series 2, Saab 99 Turbo, Marcos Mantis, Pontiac GTO, Alfa Romeo Montreal, and the Wankel-engine NSU RO80.

Pls note
If you're not too confident with changing your PC settings in this way, it is probably best to get someone who knows more about this kind of thing to do it. It has been tested on my own PC (running Windows XP) and works ok with Internet Explorer 6.0 and Firefox 1.0 browsers. No guarantees, warranties or anything else that it'll work on every new or ancient PC out there! I can't take responsibility for anyone re-configuring their Windows settings by trying this - however it should be fine, but it does require a little knowledge by the user to install it.
