Dennis Pax.
Gary kindly sent over these scans of small photos, taken from a family album. They feature Dennis Pax lorries of the 1940s, which were operated by his family's old firm - T. Cobb & Sons Ltd of Spring Street, Portsmouth, a business that began life in 1890 and continued in road haulage until 1986. My thanks to Gary for allowing me to publish them here.

Dennis Pax registration CTP 678 is shown in the first of these photographs, a Portsmouth series first used in September 1942.

The second of Gary's photos shows another Pax, registration CTP 663, well loaded in a dockside scene.

A group of the firm's drivers are stood with one of the Dennis lorries in this next shot.

CTP 663 once again. Several of these photographs appear to show bomb-damaged buildings in the background - not surprising given the pounding that Portsmouth endured during the war. A check of the National Archives site brings up references to T.Cobb and Sons, and the demolition of damaged buildings during the war.

Completing the set of Dennis photos, another shot of '678 with a driver behind the wheel.

To finish off this particular collection, a final shot of Gary's relatives stood outside the entrance to the haulage yard, in 1946.
