Hi all,
I was attending this event on sunday, and took some photos, for you guys in UK.
There were soo many nice cars, but I will start with the Mini,s
1st up, is a rare "beast" Dont think I ever saw one before ? (as MK I)
Can anyone spot, whats special about this car ?
Here is Michaels early 59er.
He does have the correct washer bottle.
Notice the dead fly, no trailers here.
It was a nice day = no rain, so many people - rare & interesting cars to see,
and I met 2 people, with direct connections to my cars past
of which 1 gave me some very interesting info (more to come) .

It looks as if it has a non-standard heater blower. Does it have air conditioning?

Hi guys,
you are all looking at the right place = the big airfilter (also a bigger carb, sitting in the middle of it)
No Peter, the heater blower is std.
I will give the answer when Bob2 had a go
No one can say "The Italien Job" didnt influence people
Even more than 40 years later =

Actually I have no idea Jens other than that the air filter housing is the wrong one on a mk 1 mini, looks more like a 70's one. I have also noted that the roof on this mini is black yet only the coopers and Ss had two tone.
However there was a limited run of minis with two tone paint and cooper interior dubbed the Super and are very rare since the model ran only for a year and many were robbed of there interior for coopers' restorations, is this car a super? |

You spotted the airfilter = 1 point, but you are wrong about this not being correct for a MK I = minus 1 point
One MK 1 did indeed have this airfilter.
This one =

Sounds like a different approach
I think it might have run too hot, if the engine was tuned, as the autobox most likely generates more heat, than a std box.

why did they put a 1.5inch su on the auto though?
Did it make so much of a difference?
I doubt it! |

Becourse the engine is "beefed up" = needed the bigger carb to breathe.
I heard the autobox came with bigger engines = hence no 850 badge . _________________ http://www.eurods.eu/wp/index.html
