If you look at the bottom of this post you will see my choice in my signature.
The Mark 2 was introduced in 1959, a successful evolution of the original Mark 1 and both Land Rovers are from the 1950s - introduced in 1954 and 1958 respectively.

In my opinion cars produced in this country from the 1950s are recognisably "British" with a solidity and engineering excellence typical of that decade.

I admire cars from other decades as well, British and otherwise and cars from the 1960s probably had more flair and style. I still consider a 1960s Mercedes 230/250/280SL as being one of the most handsome cars built.

An Austin A90, Mark 1 Ford Zephyr/Zodiac or a Wolseley 6/90 will always attract me to have a closer look.

Which decade's cars admire and interest you?

Thats a difficult one !!, bit like asking which of your children is the favorite Shocked

I have Morris 8's from the 30's to the Stag from the 70's, I fancy an 1980 sunbeam lotus, and I like my modern for a whole set of different reasons!

So I'm going to fail to pick a decade !!

1970s for me. Easy to work on and spares are readily available.

I would say the 1930's for me. There's just something about the whole era that I like. The cars look good, are simple to work on and are nice to drive. Shame spares are becoming rarer but that's bound to happen.

I tend to agree with Ukdave, although I am not a big fan of modern cars I tend to look after all my cars be it old or modernish!!
However if I really had to I think the 60s is the decade I love most!

At a local show yesterday it was the 1950s cars that outshone the rest; they're also very entertaining to watch racing.

In terms of design, I'd go with the 1930's. Fabulously elegant cars.

In terms of practicality for modern roads while still retaining good looks and ease of DIY maintenance, the 60's.

My enthusiasm for cars ends with the introduction of widespread use of plastics and electronics.

My choice would have to be the nineteen twenties.

Cars were still an adventure, but were becoming reliable. Also I love the styling with the agressive fronts and the tuck-under rear bodywork.

I enjoy the challenge of driving well with the "crash" gearboxes of the day.

I have a 1926 Chrysler and a 1928 Morris Cowley, both tourers.

The 50's are more prominent for us with the styling and innovations coming mainstream .
To be honest though if we had the finances we would have cars from all decades .up to the 90's .

All 3 of my projects are from the early '50s so I'd have to say that's the decade I like the most... After all I'm also a product of that decade.

1950's for me. Can't really explain why, but that era of car is the one I feel most at home with.
