I don't know the history of Morris Commercials but it looks rather earlier than 1937. That looks like the Bullnose engine.

The Series II 8/10 cwt van came out in July 1935.

I would agree with Peter, the Morris would pre-date 1937.

It is worth remembering that the commercial range was motor manufacturer's depository for obsolete passenger car parts when models were updated, but her I agree with the comments. I suggest that the artillery wheels would date this almost a decade earlier?

Morris Commercial Vehicles, by Harry Edwards has a C type as 30cwt to 5tons, but his illustration of a 1931 T2 type is a dead ringer for this van. He states it had a "13.9 hp 'Hotchkiss'-type side-valve engine" but no front brakes, but google pics have these:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=morris+commercial+t2&rlz=1R2ACPW_en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=UysWUpOhHIic0AXs8oHYCw&ved=0CEMQsAQ&biw=1093&bih=452
and the Morris register has this:
http://morrisregister.co.uk/3136t2/
which states 4 wheel brakes from 1932.

The registration number is from 1937 but your Edwards info. does sound interesting John. I wonder if it "acquired" a later identity at some stage. Strange things happened to vehicles that were scrapped and then resurrected. Or maybe 1931 got read as 1937 at some stage, but that doesn't explain the registration number.

Peter

A 1931 T2 from John's link

That is definitely a T2 - 1 ton capacity, built 1931-36, so a 1937 registration date is not impossible.
