Just curious, is anyone here a member and if so, is it worth joining?
On the face of it, it sounded well worth joining given my interests but when I read their site more thoroughly, they in fact cater for any US car 25 years old or older. I can't say that 1980s US cars are of much interest, so is there likely to be enough pre-50 material in the club mag, and a meets (such as Rally of the Giants) to make membership worthwhile, given that in the main I prefer pre-50 US cars?
thanks, RJ _________________ Rick - Admin

Rick
My son has just had a marvellous weekend at Pendine with the Vintage Hot Rod Association, there was an excellent turnout and a very friendly atmosphere.
They also have a couple of weekends at Prescott. Sounds as though it could be somewhere for fun.

The Pre 50 is an excellent club. The Rally of the Giants has to be one of the best American car events of the year. You will see cars there that do not come out to any other event. The emphasis is still on pre 50 cars even though they have stretched the membership to include newer stuff.
I am a member of the A.A.C.U.K. and we have been invited to an all American event at Prescot the first weekend in October |

Interesting, I'd forgotten about the AACUK. I had a look at their site, some interesting cars shown at events but lots of quite recent stuff too. Are you only in the AACUK or both?
Ashley, I like the look of that meeting at Pendine, I read about that elsewhere the other day.

I am just a member of the U.K. Although some members have earlier cars I would say the majority of members have cars from the 50's 60's and 70's |
