I've a trailer warning plate for a lorry, probably from the 40s or 50s, black with a white letter T painted on it, with circular red reflectors set into the T.
Looking at some Dodge truck pictures, I found one of a lorry like mine with the plate attached to the front bumper. Is this where they'd usually be fitted, to warn oncoming vehicles that the vehicle was likely to be towing a trailer? I'd always assumed it'd go on the back of the trailer, but thinking about it, having it mounted to the front of the towing vehicle seems to make more sense.

Looking at my old Dinky Toy trailer's the T was on the rear wing Rick. Makes sense with the reflectors being red I guess?
