I thought I'd let you guys be the first "members of the public" to see our latest acquisition - a beautiful Daimler Conquest Century.
It's a one-owner from new, with less than 50k on the clock. Serviced all its life by the local Daimler, and subsequently the Bentley dealers near to where the owner lived.
Its still being worked on by Conservation Engineers, hence the workshop backdrop, but when finished it'll be placed right at the front of the museum in the entrance foyer.
What really scares me is the black paint is like glass, I dread to think about what all those little kidilly-winks fingers will be like once the school holidays start!

It's fitted with some form of pre-selector box, however it isn't like any other one I've previously driven - or so I reckon. I can't remember the sequence to be carried out, but there are all sorts of do's & dont's relating to MoT rolling-roads and parking procedures.
I'm not at the museum tomorrow, but when I get a chance I'll post the instructions and let you guys figure them out. |

Now THAT`S a fine example for sure! And for being near as old as me, it seems to be in much better shape.
(Of course, I have much more mileage on me, LOL!)
DJ would look good in a black hat & jacket driving me around in that, eh? |
