Can anyone please tell me how to check/set the ignition timing on this engine. I can see no markings whatsoever on either the bottom pulley or the timing cover. Thanks. |

Spike,
Do you have access to the flywheel? The marks are sometime stamped there either on the rim or on the forward facing face with a corresponding hole somewhere in the bellhousing.

Hi Spike,
The "Ten Information manual" from the Morris register explains how to set the timing, I've scanned the page here for you:
The timing chart appears to be missing but I have a datasheet with a better description.
There is a small hole in the rear flange of the bottom pulley which you line up with a pressing on the timing cover for TDC:
It seems the Ignition timing is TDC and is only set statically!
I have just started to rebuild my 12/4 engine but I'm having problems with the timing chain at the moment, I haven't even got as far as ignition timing
I hope that helps and good luck,
