Hi all, received this email today, can anyone advise? it seems like they have located a chassis/VIN number, but is there a separate body number on the 1300??
-------------------------
Good morning,
I am the wife of a Hungarian man. My husband does not speak English, that is why I am writing to you. First of all, sorry for the weak English.
My husband has just finished the renewing of an Austin 1300 GT from 1970. He would like to get the permit from the authorities to drive it. There is a blocking point, they want to see the body number stamped to the car's body somewhere. In Hungary, this is the only one identification number which is necessary to declare that the car is not a stolen one etc. He was searching for it (unfortunately with destroying the paint sometimes) but could not find. Could you please give some instructions where should we have it?
We have a metal plate next to the battery, with the number AA4DA 3979M. We guess that this is the VIN plate, but not sure.
We are a little family with one little child, planning to go for a holiday in the middle of July. As we do not have any other car, it could be the only one choice us to go by car. We kindly ask you to answer us soon.
Thank you in advance _________________ Rick - Admin

Rick,
I think your e-mailer needs the commission number.
If you go to www.ado16.info , look for the 'Featured' section and click on
'Owning an ADO16'. Scroll down to 'Identification'. Click on there and you should find all the information that's required. |
