Who spotted the Bluebird caravan on Ebay the other night.?
I sat down at about 11.30pm to have a quick nosey before bedtime when I spotted a Bluebird caravan with a £1750.00 advertised price , or close to it..
Before I could press the button to look at it properly the listing ended.
It had only been listed about 15 minutes previously.
Just shows things sell that you know nothing about, even though you are always on the lookout.

Any chance that you could use the Queen's English please? I have no idea what all that translates to and frankly, I don't have the time to try either. _________________ Evans Waterless Coolants

| Should that be 'translates to' and not 'translates too' ? |

I would have thought translates "into".
But more to the point the effect texting is having (has had?) on the written English Language is most annoying.
It annoys me so much that all text messages to my phone are deleted unread. And I am unhappy about needing to put up with it here.
But then I do not NEED to put up with it. Do I?
Hmmm.

I have no idea what all that translates too and franklyl, I don't have the time to try either. | I realy must apologise as my message seemed to upset someone for whom it wasn`t meant,if it is read as spelt people will find it is spelt as pronounced .it was just a short message , but translation goes / woz=was....cat=catagory.....n=and......u=you.....thnx=thanks.....
GF=GRESHAM FLYER......cos =Because. With it only been a short message and as I thought was easy to decifer I did not think it would be difficult however I do not come on here to upset people even though it has been a while since I put anything on I apologise for the hard work I have caused some people. Its just that if you had become to know me that when anything is mentioned about bluebirds I am like a rat up a drain pipe as they are my passion. _________________ All my favourite memories are in the past. |

English is a very flexible language and changes constantly. I don't think you can fix it at some point in time and say that that is correct and everything else is wrong. Try some Victorian prose, or Boswell's Life of Johnson (picked at random from my bookcase) which is so wordy I'm surprised he ever got to the end of a sentence.
Not liking something is fine, I was reacting to the tone of the complainer.
Agree with 'into', usually used when referring to language |

If this has offended anyone then I apologise in advance. I must also add that as I don`t write on here often doesn`t mean to say I am not there ,I do look on here almost each day and get much pleasure from it and if there was any way I could help someone with a problem then I would and hope in the past I have. _________________ All my favourite memories are in the past. |

My point is not that I could not understand the written message. Just that I prefer English as it is normally written.
I read a lot. And if books were written in that fashion, one of the pleasures of my life would disappear because I would not enjoy reading text corrupted by "texting" or laziness.
I can accept mistakes like "should of wrote" rather than "should have written". But not 4 for "for" or "wos" for "was" (which being 3 letters seem pointless anyway!).
As a retired Teacher and Lecturer I would have been sacked for publishing such material. And rightly so.
Of course written "and spoken" languages evolve naturally, but I cannot accept deliberate butchery of them

| I have no wish to drag this out but you would do better to ignore things you don't like rather than making snotty comments. You have no idea why the comment was written like that but decided that it was laziness or something. Absolutely no justification for that at all. |

Think its time to put this one to bed before i legitimately upset someone .comments were unjustly made such as "laziness" "butchery"and other remarks insinuated without thinking ,i know i don`t have to explain myself to you but will a bit, Sometimes i type like that because i was born with polio in 1 of my legs and at times i either use crutches or my wheelchair and because of that i have developed Arthritus in my hand from extra use . I did feel my couple of sentences were quite readable as they could of been typed different as i demonstrated. So because of this i am not asking you to accept as you say "deliberate butchery". So you see it is not laziness or done on purpose to make life difficult for my fellow man. Also as a fellow member i feel as others do that it is best to ignore silly things like this and i feel personally you would get on better with people ,I could say if you don`t like it you don`t have to read it or put up with it ,But i won`t say that as i have more respect for the members on here even yourself, and would help if i could any member on here and that includes you ,and i did apologise but you still went on with insinuatons ,So in future my advice is think before you act ,Besides don`t bring your classroom in answers to my threads as i don`t appreciate that as from the age of 4 till 16 i think i had enough of teachers in school who were not in touch with the real world.and don`t even think about correcting my grammar as i`m sure you will know what is written Now lets hope thats an end to it _________________ All my favourite memories are in the past. |
