I am looking at buying a vintage car (1969 Camaro), the seller states all documentation is there, when viewing the documentation, what documents do I need to check over and what should they have within them? How can I tell if they are not legit, etc etc. I have looked on the DVLA website, yet I still
can't grasp it!
As I do not want to restore the car to find out I cannot register it!
Thanks,
Kieran |

If it has been imported from the USA, make sure all the customs papers are present and correct. At one time you'd get a 386 (or was it 286?) certificate after import duties had been paid, I think the recently-introduced NOVA process has replaced this.
The original Title (US registration doc) will be handy to have also, for when the time comes to getting a dating certificate prior to registration.
