During my rambling about today, I was in a car showroom, looking at some new pickups. Before I go further, I would like to point out that or me, a pickup is a working vehicle. Very nice they look to. The trouble is, the ones I looked at (no names mentioned) were about as practical as a chocolate teapot.
Its all very well, them having ABS, central locking, electric windows, but why on earth would I need to buy a bed liner before I can load it without damaging it? Or not be able to lower the tailgate below horizontal if I have a towbar fitted? Or even remove said tailgate easily?
Why cant manufacturers realise that the first consideration for working vehicles is that they have to be both simple and practical? Or is it me just being stupid?

What do the new owners of such vehicle do with their kids then? Tape their mouths so that they cant be sick inside?
During the last year, I've had dead elk, V8's, palletfuls of bricks, and who knows what else on mine.....maybe I've no lifestyle!
