I had to make do leaving it exposed to the elements, last time I took it to the supermarket Smile

I find people invariably treat any classic on the street with respect so I park it wherever there's a parking space near to where I want to shop.

Always on the high side of sloping car parks (the modern, too) to avoid the inevitable runaway trolleys.

As far away as possible from parents with kids who are allowed to fling open doors regardless of space required. I park on the part farthest away from the shop entrance but still come back to a car surrounded by others even though there are more spaces in the centre. Herd instinct? Cheers,JD.

I know this doesn't apply to you, being in the antipodes, but unfortunately in Chorley, Lancs the Morrisons supermarket has the building at the top of a steepish site, so if you park there you are amongst all the door bangers.
Personally I park, as far as possible, where nobody else wants to.
Though I have found that if there is a nice clear area of 5 or 6 empty bays when you come back to your car often someone hasparked in the next bay, it's as if they think their car will get lonely if it isn't next to another one. Very Happy

I park my classics at home and go in the daily and still try to park where there's less risk of doors slamming in my car but you still find the occasional dent!!
During summer I gave my car to one of these dent repairers and for little money, the sides on my car got that little better, let's see how long they'll be like that!!!!!!

It's like the talkative idiot on the bus - a dozen empty seats but they still come and bore you rigid for the duration of the journey Rolling Eyes

I use my cars almost everyday, and I try to park at "special spots". But generally speaking, I park where is vacancy. Smile

A different supermarket has this very useful parking space, handy when it's available...
