Hi,
I am currently busy putting my dash together with the gauges etc, but the screws used to mount the Dash to the firewall mounts are by no means correct they were chrome, but the previous owner sawed a line in the middle to fasten it. I would assume the screw/bolt type is the same one used for the cubby hole fixings.
A picture and some sizes would be appreciated.
Regards
Trevor

Trevor,

Not quite sure from your description what you're looking for, but here's a picture of the instrument panel:

The PLC2 switch shown is a later type with key ignition switch instead of the correct type operated by a simple spade (or screwdriver).

Of the 3 screws securing the panel to the cowl, the top 2 are the same as those for the side braces, namely chromed brass 5/16" BSF raised CSK slot head, which screw into captive nuts in the cowl.

However, the one at bottom centre is longer because there's a spacer between the back of the panel and the cowl, then an ordinary hex nut at the back. DO NOT OMIT THE SPACER or you'll distort the panel. The spacer is 11/16" o/d mild steel, 5/8" long, drilled 5/16", and countersunk on one end to take the recess pressing of the dash panel.

Richard

I think you will find the screws are 1/4" BSF not 5/16". They are available from Ian Harris I would think.

Probably right. I didn't have a 'free' one to check.
